Low-maintenance upgrade designed to outlast Colorado’s elements
In December 2024, Homestead Exteriors completed a full siding renovation for homeowner Anthony Ianni in Golden, Colorado. With ongoing issues like woodpecker damage, cracking cedar, and high maintenance demands, Anthony was ready for a long-term solution that could refresh his home’s appearance and minimize upkeep.
Challenge
Anthony’s cedar siding had become a maintenance burden—cracks, pest issues, and ongoing repairs were taking their toll. The home’s steep roofline also made installation more complex than a standard job. He wanted to modernize the look of the home, simplify future maintenance, and add contrast and curb appeal with a smart blend of materials.
The Solution
We started with a Hover 3D rendering to help Anthony visualize his new exterior before any materials were ordered. The design included James Hardie lap siding in Mountain Sage, accented with Old Cherry WoodTone lap boards and framed with Iron Gray trim. The materials were chosen not only for their appearance but for their durability in Colorado’s climate.
Despite the challenging roofline, our crew moved quickly and efficiently, maintaining a tidy jobsite and close communication throughout. The result was a seamless install that took just two weeks from start to finish, even with the custom design elements and pitch of the roof.
Homeowner Priorities
After a long search, we chose Homestead Exteriors and we’re so glad we did. The steep roof didn’t phase them, and the communication and craftsmanship were outstanding. I would recommend them without hesitation.
— Anthony I.
The Results
Anthony’s home now features a balanced, modern exterior that blends earthy tones with high-performance siding and windows. The WoodTone accent adds warmth and dimension, while the Hardie siding offers long-term protection with no ongoing upkeep. The project not only enhanced the home’s appearance—it made it future-ready.
