A design-focused siding upgrade that required careful coordination beyond the exterior.
In November 2025, Homestead Exteriors completed a full exterior transformation for Steve in Denver, Colorado. The homeowner wanted to address outdated siding and improve energy efficiency, but curb appeal was also a major priority. The new design combined multiple siding profiles, colors, and a WoodTone accent to give the home a completely refreshed appearance.
Challenge
Once the project got underway, the scope extended well beyond replacing the visible siding. The existing vinyl had been installed over asbestos, requiring Homestead to coordinate with an asbestos abatement company for proper removal.
Horizontal furring strips that had been used to hold the asbestos also needed to be removed. From there, insulation had to be reinstalled and electrical work rerun before the new exterior could be completed. Managing these different phases efficiently was important to minimizing disruption for the homeowner.
The Solution
Homestead used Hover 3D to help visualize the exterior transformation and plan a design centered around curb appeal.
The final design paired Iron Gray board and batten with Cobblestone lap siding and Old Cherry WoodTone accents. The soffit, fascia, and gutters were painted Cobblestone to coordinate with the siding and create a cohesive finished look.
Throughout the project, Homestead coordinated the asbestos abatement and electrical work while handling the removal of the existing furring strips, reinstalling insulation, and completing the new siding installation.
The Results
What began as an exterior update became a more involved project once the layers beneath the existing siding were uncovered. Through coordination with the asbestos abatement company and electrical work, Homestead was able to manage the additional scope while keeping disruptions to the homeowner to a minimum.
The finished exterior combines Iron Gray, Cobblestone, and Old Cherry for a distinctive new look that delivers the curb appeal the homeowner was looking for.
