In February 2026, Homestead Exteriors completed a siding and door replacement for John’s home in the Foxridge neighborhood. The existing cedar siding had deteriorated over time, with cupping, cracking, chipping, and woodpecker damage creating the need for an exterior update. Durability, lower maintenance, and curb appeal were important priorities when selecting new products that could stand up to Colorado’s climate.
Challenge
The home’s existing cedar siding was showing significant wear, including cupping, cracking, and chipping, along with damage from woodpeckers. The homeowners wanted a more durable, lower-maintenance exterior that would improve the home’s appearance while being better suited for Colorado’s climate.
Timing was also important. A separate contractor was scheduled to build a shed on the property, so the siding project needed to be completed before that work could begin.
The Solution
Homestead used Hover 3D during the planning process, while Keith worked with the homeowners to discuss their options for both the siding and the new door.
For the exterior, the homeowners selected James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding with Arctic White James Hardie trim, prioritizing durability, lower maintenance, and curb appeal.
The door selection required additional consideration because the French door faces southwest and receives significant sun exposure. Warranty coverage and a prefinished product were important to the homeowners, ultimately leading them to choose a ProVia Signet fiberglass French door.
Homestead coordinated the project around the upcoming shed construction and completed the siding installation on schedule.
Homeowner Priorities
Homestead replaced our siding in a record 2 days. Service was impeccable from start to finish and they took great care on the property. Keith did a great job educating us on the products as well as staying visible through the process. I would consider them a trusted partner for other projects.

The Results
The completed project replaced the home’s failing cedar siding with a lower-maintenance James Hardie exterior while addressing the homeowners’ concerns about durability and woodpecker damage. The new ProVia French door complemented the exterior upgrade while providing the prefinished construction and warranty coverage the homeowners prioritized for its sun-exposed location.
