Challenge
The home’s siding had begun to fail in select areas, and the front door was contributing to noticeable energy loss. A unique obstacle on this project was a large fixed shed positioned very close to the home, preventing access to portions of the siding behind it. Rather than relocating or dismantling the shed—which was not feasible—we developed a work-around approach involving careful cuts, flashing, and creative trim work to preserve both the shed and the home’s new exterior.
The Solution
We used Hover 3D modeling to assist the homeowner in selecting a cohesive design that matched both function and aesthetics. The partial siding replacement was completed using James Hardie lap siding in Monterey Taupe, accented with Cobblestone trim for a soft, neutral finish.
We installed a ProVia entry door and a new Andersen window, both selected for their energy performance ratings and long-term reliability. Our team was able to complete all detailing around the immovable shed structure without compromising the integrity or visual continuity of the siding. The result is a seamless look, even in tight conditions.
Homeowner Priorities
